I've enjoyed Cathy Williams books in the past, though she isn't one of my favorite authors; however, this one looked interesting and I decided to give it a go. Well, this story started out slow and then it just got slower. It plodded along with the speed of a snail... that is until the last 4-5 pages when the whole thing was wrapped up in a convenient ends-tying bundle. There was so little chemistry in this book and quite a lot of Theo reminiscing about his lost love and Sophie fretting about her father's debts -- and very superficially. It just never grabs your attention. Apart from one brief and unsubstantial kiss earlier in the book, the characters don't even become romantically involved until more than 1/2 way through. The whole first 1/2 being spent with them hating each other and the aforementioned pondering. All in all very dull. If you read the last chapter, you've pretty much read the book and saved yourself the despair of 180 pages of asinine commentary. There are much better options out there so save your money.
